  2. This is the cutest looking giraffe that I have seen but I am having a hard time with reading the pattern. for row 1 on the body do you chain 10 in the round or are these going to be chain and turn. The numbers at the end in parenthesis the number that I should have at the end of the round?

    1. Hi there! Row 1 on the body is just a straight chain. You start working in the round in row 2 - this is done by working into the V's one way and the bumps on the way back. If this doesn't make sense let me know and I'll post some pics! Mehreen :)

    2. Hi there,
Which row of the pattern are you having trouble with? If it's row 2, you sc9, inc 3 stitches into the 10th stitch, sc8 then inc 2 stitches into the next stitch. Hope this helps.

  8. I think it's great but it's to big to me. Do you have a smaller pattern?

    1. Hi Trang, I don't have a smaller version I'm afraid. You could try using a 4 ply yarn and the suggested hook size for that yarn, that should help it come up smaller. Sorry I can't help anymore, good luck and have fun :)

  9. Can you explain the first row? If I sc 9 and then do the increase, I have no stitches left to work unless I continue around the chain.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hi Michele,

This pattern is 'amigurumi' style and each row is meant to be worked in the round. The sc9 will take you along the first straight edge and the increase is then done on the end of the chain then continue round. It will give you an oval shaped base rather than a circle. Hope this helps X

  11. Hello Mehreen! This is the most adorable giraffe pattern. I just had to make it for my newest grandson. He came out so cute! I didn't stuff the horns or ears. Did you stuff them? The horns on yours look stuffed, but I couldn't tell.
Thank you for this adorable pattern. You are very gracious!
