How sweet!
ReplyDeleteOooh thank you !!
ReplyDeleteNo worries - hope you have fun making a giraffe! :)
DeleteThank you for this pattern! I made him and he is adorable! He is my first amigurumi figure. You did a great job making a pattern that a beginner could get great results with.
DeleteHi! I'm so pleased you got on well with the pattern, it's always nice to get some feedback! Glad he turned out well too :D
DeleteThis is the cutest looking giraffe that I have seen but I am having a hard time with reading the pattern. for row 1 on the body do you chain 10 in the round or are these going to be chain and turn. The numbers at the end in parenthesis the number that I should have at the end of the round?
ReplyDeleteHi there! Row 1 on the body is just a straight chain. You start working in the round in row 2 - this is done by working into the V's one way and the bumps on the way back. If this doesn't make sense let me know and I'll post some pics! Mehreen :)
DeleteI think I understand but the pictures would sure be nice. I learn much easier when I can see what it is supposed to look like. Thanks so much!
DeleteHey again Anon!
ReplyDeleteOkay, put up a few pics, hope these are more explanatory! You can find them under the pages section of my blog or just click on the following link!

Deletehttp://theyarningdarling.blogspot.co.uk/p/mr-giraffe-rows-1-2.html
Omg why am I having such a hard time with this? Please help how am I suppose to do this? I cant get past the chain
ReplyDeleteHi, okay so the first row is a chain. The following rows you work in a round (as pictured in the photos for Rows 1+2). Hope this helps.
DeleteHi can i use your free pattern for making a story toy plz it is so cute and excatly what i really need ...
ReplyDeleteHi there, sorry for the late reply, I've been on vacation for the past two weeks! If you just use the pattern to make a toy to help tell a story then of course you can! You just can't reproduce or sell the the pattern without my permission. Have fun! :)
ReplyDeletethe inc. does that just mean in the next stitch after the 8 sc, sc 2?
ReplyDeleteoh nvm its sc 3 in each one im now seeing??
Deletesooo sc in eight stiches then inc means sc3 in the ninth stich??
for example.
Hi there,
DeleteWhich row of the pattern are you having trouble with? If it's row 2, you sc9, inc 3 stitches into the 10th stitch, sc8 then inc 2 stitches into the next stitch. Hope this helps.
oh man... i thought all the inc. were 3 inc. im on row like 4 now lol GUESS ILL START OVER! :P
Deleteok once again i think i answered my own question... is it always 3 stiches in the first inc of each row? lol hahah NEW QUESTION then i think im alright
DeleteLol!! Yep all the other inc are the normal two, it's just the first one that has three!! Good luck with the rest of it! :)
Deletethank you! ok i should be alright with the rest of it now :D
DeleteI think it's great but it's to big to me. Do you have a smaller pattern?
ReplyDeleteHi Trang, I don't have a smaller version I'm afraid. You could try using a 4 ply yarn and the suggested hook size for that yarn, that should help it come up smaller. Sorry I can't help anymore, good luck and have fun :)

DeleteThank you. This giraffe is cute anyway :)
DeleteCan you explain the first row? If I sc 9 and then do the increase, I have no stitches left to work unless I continue around the chain.
ReplyDeleteHi Michele,
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is 'amigurumi' style and each row is meant to be worked in the round. The sc9 will take you along the first straight edge and the increase is then done on the end of the chain then continue round. It will give you an oval shaped base rather than a circle. Hope this helps X
Hello Mehreen! This is the most adorable giraffe pattern. I just had to make it for my newest grandson. He came out so cute! I didn't stuff the horns or ears. Did you stuff them? The horns on yours look stuffed, but I couldn't tell.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this adorable pattern. You are very gracious!
Gloria
Love dem giraffes!!! Thanks so much for sharing SMILE Helen
