Theft of Intellectual Property

Update: I contacted the UK admin for DaWanda and they agreed with me that it was a copyright violation.  They have since deleted the listing and sent the seller and message reminding them of the T&C's for selling.  So pleased :D

Sorry to have to write a serious post, but I've discovered that someone has been selling my free Giraffe pattern on a German based website

This person has never contacted me regarding selling my pattern for their own personal profit and has tried to apply a copyright to the picture they've even stolen from my blog.

Due to this, I've had to put a stern message on my pattern :(

I'd be so grateful if you could let me know if you discover this pattern anywhere else, and if you could ask the seller to delete the pattern immediately.

Thank you.

  1. Diese Dame verkauft Ihre Giraffe immer noch obwohl ich sie gebeten hatte, dies zu entfernen. Bitte melden Sie den verstoss an Dawanda Nur so wird etwas dagegen unternommen

    1. Thank you for your help! I have already tried to contact Dawanda but I haven't received a reply from them yet. I will try again using the email address you've given me!

    2. You can try to reach them on twitter...

    3. I'll try that, I also found a UK based telephone number which I may try calling tomorrow regarding this issue.

Also Haekel, thank you so much for commenting on the seller's site!

  2. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this too! I was just recently alerted that my elephant design is being sold by (I think) this very same seller. If it IS the same person, she is STILL selling your giraffe, as part of a "collection". She is using MY elephant photo for the listing, but mentions giraffe in the description -- the same "collection" also has a pattern set by Bernat/Lily, and a monkey pattern by another independent designer in it. If "your" thief was "Gertrud9129", then we are talking about the same person. I've contacted DeWanda through the 'report violation' link, but haven't heard back just yet.

    1. Thank you so so much for letting me know!! The seller is "Gertrud9129". Such an awful person, they didn't reply to any of my messages and deleted any comments people would make about it being a stolen free pattern!!

I didn't get any luck with the 'report as a violation' link, but there was a UK contact number. I called it and the lady who helped me is so nice. I looked at the booklet and it is suspicious that the pussycat and bernat patterns are also listed. I've emailed the UK help admin the link asking them to look into it and hopefully they'll get an answer.

Sorry to hear that you're having to deal with this aswell :(
